DJs going to the Oscars
Gareth Cliff (5FM) Azania (Metro FM) and Graeme White (Good Hope FM) are going to Hollywood with Ster-Kinekor Theatres and will be bringing South Africa all the breaking news on the Oscars and attending some of the hottest parties in Tinsel town including Sir Elton John's A nnual A cademy awards® party.
The trio departs South Africa on Wednesday 25th February and return on 2 March 2004.
In the build up to the awards the DJs have VIP access to the Universal and Warner Brothers studios and cocktails and dinners at some of the cities most exclusive venues including the very chi Sky Bar and 5 Star Mondrian hotel. They will be crossing live daily from Los Angeles saying "Howzit South Africa' updating listeners on what's going down on the West Coast. On Oscar Day Sunday 29th February they will bring all the big award announcements as they break live to radio back home
In A South African exclusive, Azania will be a guest of Sir Elton John at his 12th annual academy awards® viewing party on Sunday 29 February, which is a celebrity spotters haven – some of the confirmed guests this year are Beck, Sir Tim Rice, Hilary Duff, Michelle Branch, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Carmen Electra and Dave Navaro, Erin McCormack, Nia Vardalos, Taryn Manning, Tony Bennett, Christian Slater and Ryan Haddon. The viewing party is a fundraiser for the Elton John AIDS foundation and one of the most sought Oscars after parties. Sir Elton John will also perform with 16-year old soul sensation Joss Stone.
Traveling with the trio of DJs on Virgin Atlantic upperclass are six Oscars fans who won all expensive paid trips to Los Angeles in the Ster-Kinekor Howzit Hollywood competition run on SABC 1, SABC 3, Metro FM, 5FM and Good Hope FM.
