Julian Jones, Khurshid Fazel join Webber Wentzel
Law firm Webber Wentzel has appointed business rescue and insolvency specialist Julian Jones and banking and finance lawyer Khurshid Fazel to strengthen its restructuring and insolvency (R&I) offering, which provides advice on all aspects of restructurings and insolvencies.
Jones joins the law firm from Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr (CDH) where he led business rescue, restructuring and insolvency and has substantial knowledge of liquidation and insolvency proceedings. Fazel joins the Webber Wentzel team from Allen & Overy and her expertise is recognised by Chambers Global, IFLR1000, Legal 500 and Who's Who: Capital Markets.
"We welcome Julian and Khurshid, who bring further bench strength to our deep capability at a time when many businesses are facing the economic threat of Covid-19, and an increasing number are calling on our assistance. Even some of South Africa's most established companies may face liquidity problems and difficulties dealing with their liabilities - whether in making required payments on borrowed money, raising additional debt to address liquidity needs or selling assets to raise capital or pay down debt," said Webber Wentzel senior partner Christo Els.
