LONDON: David Lubars, chairman and chief creative officer of BBDO North America, will chair both the Film and Press juries in 2009, the organisers of the 56th Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival announced yesterday, Tuesday, 2 December 2008. "David is a visionary whose boundless creativity is an inspiration to us all. He is a regular fixture on stage at Cannes, where he has collected Lions for outstanding work across multiple categories over many years," said Philip Thomas, CEO of Cannes Lions. "We are honoured that he will be chairing the Film and Press categories next year." Lubars has been at the helm of BBDO since 2004 and has overseen the agency's transformation into "a 21st century version of a kick-ass 60's New York agency".
