Fresh innovation from new 'Liqui' brand

Liqui-Fruit ended 2004 on a fresh note after a successful year in which the brand ventured into new territories with the innovation of three new distinct beverages. As the new beverages fall outside of the 100% juice category, the Liqui brand was established to accommodate the changes and to avoid consumer confusion. Liqui-Fruit as a brand in the 100% juice category also underwent a tantalising new packaging update.

Shrek Juice

Liqui obtained the world's only licence to make and market a juice inspired by the blockbuster Shrek 2, aptly named Shrek Juice. A flavour was developed for each of the film's lead characters, namely Shrek Pineapple, Donkey Litchi, Fiona Cherry and Puss in Boots Apple. Each drink is packaged in original triangular tetra packs and further packaged in fun branded party boxes containing five juices.

Liqui-Spritz

This is a new, all natural cold drink containing 15% fruit juice and purified carbonated water. As with all Liqui products, no artificial colourants, flavourants or preservatives are used. Liqui-Spritz is packed in bright, funky 340 ml cans and can also be purchased in economical 4-packs. This truly refreshing cold drink is for people in need of an on-the-go thirst quencher - it has been filtering onto the market since September.

Liqui-Cooler

This is a unique beverage on the South African market as it is fashioned as a flavoured alcoholic beverage, but it contains no alcohol. This trendy 275 ml bottle contains a wicked fusion of 15 % real fruit juice and lightly carbonated purified water, while it contains no artificial colourants, flavourants or perservatives. It gives socialites a new option to a soft drink or an alcoholic beverage. It can be purchased in singles at cafes, bars, restaurants and clubs countrywide or in 6-packs for your local supermarket. Liqui-Cooler hit the social scene in November 2004.

New pack design

Liqui-Fruit, the country's largest fruit juice brand now also sports a vibrant new look. According to Estelle van Wyk, Liqui-Fruit brand manager, the new pack design primarily evolved to accommodate forthcoming innovation from the Liqui-Fruit stable. "It serves to reinforce the Liqui-Fruit brand leadership and further differentiate us from key competitors. The fruit on our new pack looks so real, you can almost taste it," says van Wyk.

New look Liqui-Fruit flavours such as the popular Berry Blaze, Cranberry Cooler and Mango Orange will continue to invigorate consumers while remaining 'nothing but fruit, 0% Fake'! Due to popular consumer demand, the 1.5 litre range now also includes the distinctive Liqui-Fruit Red Grape flavour.
