Nappy Run ambassadors announced

The National Council for Persons with Physical Disabilities in South Africa (NCPPDSA), the founder of the Nappy Run campaign, has announced that media personality Eloise Cupido and extreme adventurer Riaan Manser, have come on board to support this cause for our country's kids with disabilities.
Nappy Run ambassadors announced

The Nappy Run campaign is raising awareness for children with disabilities and calling for donations of the most basic of care items, the common nappy. The NCPPDSA is especially excited about these two ambassadors as they appeal to entirely different followings and both represent such a positive spirit and approach to life.

All need support

"I believe in uplifting the individual spirit through aspiring to adventure and empowering self-belief," says Manser. "We all need support and encouragement on our journeys and children with disabilities deserve the same opportunities and dreams as the rest of us. If you can dream it, you can do it."

Manser is well-known for his adventure expeditions and setting personal endurance records which take him to the edge of his mental and physical abilities. He knows the stamina that is needed to keep going amidst challenging circumstances.

Eloise Cupido has a career in television that has seen her as both actress and presenter in many bilingual roles on shows such as Pasella, Kwêla, Belboks, Proesstraat and Jozi H. This multi-talented woman believes in giving your best in all situations.

Ability to move

"As someone who loves to dance and sing, I am thankful of my ability for movement and expression every day. I chose to support the Nappy Run campaign for children with disabilities to help those children in our country who can't always speak out for themselves," says Cupido.

Pampers have also come on board as a sponsor, providing R50,000 towards the campaign and donating nappies to the value of R10,000 to go to children with disabilities in care centres around the country.

Nappy Run is a month long national awareness and donation drive campaign for children with disabilities. Everyone is invited to contribute a pack of nappies or to donate 'nappy rands' on the website. There is also a 5km fun run event for the whole family to participate in, taking place at the Joburg Zoo on Sunday, 3 November 2013.
