Under the theme 'Enabling South Africa to become the heartbeat of diamond beneficiation in Africa', the conference will address job creation and skills development in the beneficiation segment of the diamond industry. In the case of rough diamonds, beneficiation entails the cutting and polishing of the stone into saleable gemstones for incorporation into jewellery or for investment purposes.
