SixLove Events announces Lady Luck & Man's Ruin...

Southern Ink Xposure, the biggest tattoo event in the southern hemisphere, returns to Cape Town in January 2010 throwing down two nights of killer Cape Town sounds. Providing the soundtrack for Southern Ink Xposure 2010 will be a collection of Cape Town's finest up ‘n coming alongside long-established musical acts.

A sub-theme of the Cape Town International Tattoo Convention is side-stepping the stereotype, something which the convention organisers have insisted be reflected in the live music component of each concert, hence the rare diversity of acts chosen to perform at the two live shows.

Each show is also themed in honour of classical tattoo style icons of yore.

“Lady Luck”- Mercury Live & Lounge (43 De Villiers Street, Zonnebloem)

This year's musical entertainment at the Mercury will be provided by the exceptionally diverse live talents of newcomers The Great Apes, the much loved, female-fronted rockers The Ragdolls, alongside everyone's favourite “cooler as eke” MC-of-the-moment Jack Parow whilst Throatball add some serious testosterone-fuelled punk to the proceedings. Legendary Cape Town DJ Honey B (African Dope Records) brings her swing-thing to the dancefloor before, during and after the bands.

“Man's Ruin” - The Assembly (61 Harrington Street, east city precinct)

Attended by local and international celebs, this big, big night of musical mayhem and much merriment at The Assembly rolls forth with a stellar line-up of rockabilly, reggae and rattlesnake rock provided by the supreme song prowess of Cape Town's bad-boy blues singers The Tornados amidst the ever-green riddims of scene stalwarts The Rudimentals amongst the leather ‘n chrome-clad glam-swag of Damn Right with a return to stage from the world-famous rude-rockers The Mochines, plus a swing thing or two from special guest DJs like DJ Buck Wild and oh-so-special friends.

Entrance to each music event is R60 at the door or free entrance to those with Southern Ink Xposure Weekend Passes (available now for R250).

Single day admission to the tattoo convention is R120 and a weekend pass is R250 which allows unlimited access to the convention for all three days and free entrance to the concerts.
