Jennifer Fieldgate founded RUB, an acronym for relax, unwind and breathe, in April 2005. Situated in Sandton, it is part of number of global skincare centres that function as Dermalogica Experts. The salon is also one of the top five Guinot salons in South Africa and a leader in LCN nail systems.
Fieldgate also prides herself on continual education among staff and general professionalism to the brand. “I have learnt the importance of client based service, whereby you treat a client as an individual and not just another nameless face. Equally important is treating my staff as the most important part of the company’s success, as without staff you do not have a business,” explains Fieldgate.
“I have also been discerning with the type of products I stock. I make sure they are tried and tested with a strong backing in terms of science, marketing and good service from the reps and of course results are important.”
“The main reason for doing what I do is to empower woman to earn their own income and give them a sense of pride in what they do. I also encourage my staff to learn new things, and to expand their knowledge,” concludes Fieldgate.
