FAW to launch its J6 truck tractor at Soccer City

FAW South Africa, which has invested R600 million in South Africa in its state-of-the-art truck and passenger car plant at the Coega Industrial Development Zone in Port Elizabeth, is launching its J6 6x4 truck-tractor at Soccer City Stadium, Johannesburg on 6 September 2012.

China FAW Group Corporation (FAW), a Fortune 500 company, is China's oldest and largest vehicle manufacturer. As one of the world's leading vehicle producers, it has strong ties with the South African government and marketplace. The company is also China's leading exporter of vehicles and has joint venture operations with many of the world's vehicle manufacturers, including Audi, Volkswagen, Toyota and Mazda.

The J6 truck tractor, which has a gross vehicle mass of 33 700 kg, has a 600-l, 180-Ah (battery capacity), six-cylinder in line, two 12 V batteries, a front and rear (gearing type) axle and a 16-speed range change; benchmarking itself against UDI 460 and Hino 2848.

The launch will offer guests and opportunity to meet the company's personnel for arrival cocktails, canapés, and entertainment, followed by formal presentation on widescreen with AV production of new truck tractor. Golf carts will take the guests to the pitch to be entertained by a 'Haka' team and cheerleaders, leading up to the big reveal on the pitch.

The company prides itself on giving 'extreme service' and this, combined with its world class products, has made it one of the country's champions in the truck industry, under its slogan 'Whatever the road may hold'.
