Carrol Boyes designer range goes to Russia

Carrol Boyes, Cape Town-based manufacturer of stylish home and tableware will soon be supplying the Russian market with its designer range. Committed to growing the brand's global presence, Lesley Grimbeek, Carrol Boyes head of sales, participated in Wesgro's Export Development Programme (EDP).

The EDP is a programme for established Western Cape-based companies to improve their international trade management, knowledge and expertise. On completion of the programme, candidates are invited to participate in Outward Selling Missions and Inward Buying Missions.

"We were, at first, hesitant about participating, but the Russian outward-selling mission was successful and we were fortunate to have made contact with a multilingual consultant to assist with our expansion into Russia's high-end stores. Expanding our market share will be the catalyst for additional jobs being created and community empowerment," Grimbeek said.

Fresh, unique offerings

Wesgro CEO Nils Flaaten said that through Wesgro's EDP the Investment and Trade Promotion Agency was able to identify SMMEs that have fresh, unique offerings that might be successful around the world. "Wesgro has already developed abundant relationships within the international emerging BRIC countries. Through our existing relationships we are able to partner the right individuals and companies."

Carrol Boyes designers use ABS resin, leather, stainless steel, chrome, pewter, and aluminium in their product range. All materials are locally sourced. Boyes herself is a hands-on leader who is passionate about the empowerment and welfare of individuals in the community and workplace, and has ensured the future success of her company through her work as a mentor.
