Register now for WasteCon 2010

The early bird registration for WasteCon 2010 closes on 31 May 2010. Focusing on the theme "What is your Waste Footprint?", the Institute of Waste Management of Southern Africa (IWMSA) will present a five-day conference and exhibition on 4-8 October at Emperors Palace Convention Centre, Johannesburg.

The keynote speaker is Howard Robinson, technical director of SKM Enviros from Shrewsbury, UK on "What is the future of landfills?" A wide range of topics will be covered including - waste minimization and recycling; legislation and service delivery; landfill design and operations; landfill gas extraction and CDM; waste to energy projects and opportunities; e-waste collection, recycling and disposal; social issues related to waste management as well as medical waste management.

Three separate workshops will be hosted during the conference, with a technical tour on the final day.

Kobus de Meyer, organiser of the conference says, "So far delegates from Bangladesh, Botswana, Egypt, the Czech Republic, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Germany and South Africa have registered, we are looking forward to record attendance this year."

Co-located exhibition

The exhibition will showcase the many new and current innovative products and services that the various national waste companies have to offer and will be open to the public for the first time.
