Ethnic Hair Show hits Durban

Jumbo Cash & Carry Durban will host the 2014 Jumbo Ethnic Hair Show for the first time on Sunday 8 June 2014, from 9am to 5pm at the Blue Waters Hotel. The MC for the day is the Zaba who hosted the MTN Radio Awards held earlier this year.

Offering entrepreneurs, wholesalers, salon owners and stylists the opportunity to purchase the widest range of weaves, braids, extensions, relaxers, treatment products, salon equipment and more at the lowest possible prices, the free event is set to be filled with Durban's who's who of hair styling, big brand names and an exhibition. To promote entrepreneurship, the retail store will highlight how it can assist local stylists to start their own salons and businesses.

"This is the first time an event of this magnitude will be held in Durban for the ethnic hair industry and we have put every effort into ensuring that the best deals and newest styles are on show for all to see," said Fred Killian, GM of Jumbo Cash & Carry Durban.

"We are expecting this exhibition to be a success in Durban and we have plans to roll out to the Johannesburg Afro hair industry later this year," says Morgan Naidu from Masscash. "The team has done extensive research to cater for the every need of their various consumers, from established mega salons to start up stylists requiring salon chairs, equipment and basins and stylists who are currently working from home. We are proud to be the first wholesaler in South Africa to embark on such a massive exhibition catering for a rapidly growing market."

There will be a media gala dinner on the evening of 8 June to display the evolution and fashionability of black hair. There are 100 VIP tickets for the first 100 hairstylists/salon owners who send their details, which will get them front row seating for the demos and a goodie bag worth over R600. To be a VIP, text or WhatsApp your name and salon to +27 (0)60 759 2456.
