Nederburg never neglects the needy

Beneficiary representatives, Theo Kemp, executive manager for the Breytenbach Centre and Sandra Randall, project co-ordinator for Hope Through Action, were each presented with a cheque for R104,500 from Nederburg Auction team representative Moira de Koker at Nederburg winery in Paarl, to use for their respective community outreach projects.

The Breytenbach Centre is a multidisciplinary cultural centre that provides a platform for the youth to gain access to the arts, also offering life skills to help them make responsible choices, while the community-driven Hope Through Action project reaches out to young people through the medium of sport.

"The funding we've received has been earmarked for the boy's projects currently underway at the Mbekweni Community Sports Centre," says Randall. "Thanks to the generosity of the Nederburg Auction buyers, we will be able to not only help them to develop positive life skills, physical abilities and confidence, but also empower them to cope with life's difficult realities."

This year's Nederburg Charity Auction will take place on Saturday 12 September at the close of the main auction.
