Bursary's for matriculants still available but graduate program closes

Mars Africa announced this week that they have closed accepting applications for the graduate program following the receipt of more than 1900 applications, but they will still accept applications from matriculants for bursaries.

According to Terrence Ngubane, HR and Corporate Affairs Director of Mars Africa, “This year's graduate program recruitment drive which kicked off in July saw us visiting the University of Cape Town, the University of Kwazulu Natal and as well as advertising nationally using print media. A record-breaking 1900 applications were received and out of these 10 talented young South Africans will be selected based on potential to join the global Mars team as an associate.”

The overwhelming response means that entries for this program have now closed.

However, it is well known fact that not every young South African with the ability to pursue a higher education qualification has the financial means to do so. To this end, the company will also offer annual scholarships for tertiary education to previously disadvantaged South Africans. The areas of education the company would look to support are veterinary sciences and food science.

“We invite learners who are currently writing their matric to send a covering letter with their latest report and contact details to Mars at PO Box 9111699 or to email , and we will announce our bursary recipients at the beginning of 2008,” Ngubane concludes.
