It is available in 1GB, 2GB or 4GB capacities, enabling information storage and access based on fingerprint and password technology.
“This flash drive works off a double-up security system. Should the device end up in the wrong hands, the user will have to bypass fingerprint and password-enabled security to gain access to information. Given the extent to which we utilise mobile solutions and the level at which information is being stored and transferred, a USB flash drive based on fingerprint technology certainly provides optimum security levels,” says Atul Gupta, MD at Sahara.
Key features include file/ folder encryption, Input/ Output (IO) registers of fingerprint, hidden disk area to secure personal data; Light Emitting Diode (LED) indicator for data access; Swipe Type Sensor and an Operating Life Test of 120,000 hours.
The product is bundled with a software CD with full instructions on how to format the flash drive and ‘expand' its capacity, register fingerprint and enable plug-'n-play functionality.
“We have designed the flash drive to initially provide only a portion of the memory available. This is an extra dimension to the security standard of the device. Once a user registers his-or her fingerprint as the owner, they are able to use the product to its full capacity by utilising the software tools provided,” adds Gupta.
