34 partners with SAB and Foursquare to activate groundbreaking retail promotion SAB is on the hunt for the best pub lunch in town. Using sms technology and partnering with one of the hottest New York social networking tools Foursquare, consumers were invited to claim their pub lunch deal from one of the selected 55 participating venues in the Western Cape between 24 January - 06 March. That's a tasty pub lunch & free draught for R50! They could choose from the finest draughts SAB has to offer... Carling Black Label, Castle, Castle Lite, Grolsch, Hansa, Peroni. So how did it work? 34 designed a robust promotion including tailored POS for participating venues communicating the offer; inserts in community newspapers; and regular updates on popular blogs. Consumers were invited to check in at selected venues and claim their pub lunch deal and available draught beer. All they needed to do was sms with a the venue code to 42189 or check into their chosen venue on Foursquare. Participants then received their voucher by sms to claim the offer! It doesn't end there. Our pub finalists (based on highest number of check ins) will be getting a visit from our undercover bloggers to experience the pub lunch special for themselves and between them they will select the winning venue based on a set of predetermined criteria. 2 pubs - 1 from each size category will win the grand prize of R30k...
