The event was aimed at inspiring broader talks and action around the plastic crisis and environmental conservation. It featured four inspiring women - Xoli Fuyani (environmental education project manager at Earthchild Project), Yola Mgogwana (high school student and activist), Aaniyah Omardien (founder and director of The Beach Co-op) and Robyn Smith (Faithful to Nature founder) - leading the charge in sustainability. The Dis-Chem Foundation has donated 5,200 blankets to 33 organisations nominated by Dis-Chem's Facebook followers and Dis-Chem Pharmacy staff. This initiative has been running for five years and this year, the organisations range from old age homes to children's homes and animal shelters. See the images below:.

Clover Mama Afrika, Clover's corporate investment project aimed at upskilling Mama Afrikas all over South Africa, has appointed Mama Kedibone Miyambo of Moepathutse Children Centre in Hammanskraal as its 48th Mama Afrika. The CSI initiative started in 2004 and has since hosted 426 training sessions with over 2,261 beneficiaries. See the gallery below.

Restonic, in partnership with cycling kit brand, Ciovita, has donated cycling kits to two Sani2C race riders within the Underberg region in KwaZulu-Natal. The local bedding brand has been supporting the Sani2c event for over five years, together with its parent company, KAP Industrial Holdings, which is the title sponsor of the MTB race. Siya Kolisi, John Smit, Jean de Villiers, Corné Krige, Bryan Habana and Percy Montgomery recently took up the South African Rugby Legends Association's #Rugbyunites charity challenge by distributing bags of food that were shopped and packed by themselves at SuperSpar Rosmead in Cape Town. The bags were distributed to three charities including Stepping Stones Sport, Unchain the Plain and Safe House Stellenbosch.

DHL Stormers helps unpack food delivered by Pick n Pay at old age home
DHL Stormers players Siya Kolisi, Steven Kitshoff, Scarra Ntubeni, Damian Willemse, Dillyn Leyds, Nama Xaba, Kwenzo Blose, and Chris van Zyl visited the Neighbourhood Old Age Home (NOAH) in Woodstock, Cape Town on 4 June to unpack 1,354kgs of food that was delivered by Pick n Pay's Feed the Nation campaign. Pick n Pay and the DHL Stormers have partnered to help create awareness and raise funds for Pick n Pay's Feed the Nation campaign, which is supporting hundreds of vulnerable communities in lockdown. Each Stormers player has personally donated and collectively they've donated over R50,000 towards Feed the Nation, which to date has raised R52.2m....

Pick n Pay donates meals to schoolchildren
Pick n Pay has given food hampers to vulnerable schoolchildren during the lockdown as part of its Feed the Nation campaign. A total of 15,316 hampers have been donated that equates to 1.7 million meals. The hampers included fresh vegetables, rice, maize meal, baked beans, oil, pilchards, sugar beans and milk powder. One-hundred-and-two schools across eight provinces have been assisted to date. The schoolchildren are identified through the retailer's Pick n Pay School Club....

Members of the Entrepreneurs' Organisation (EO) and their friends and families took part in a special spekboom tree planting ceremony at the site of the Great Labyrinth near Klapmuts on 7 March. Proceedings began with a word from premier Alan Winde. President of EO Cape Town, Waheed Adam, says: "It is our responsibility as business leaders and good citizens to be mindful of our carbon footprint. As an organisation, we've embarked on a campaign to raise awareness about climate change and inspire local entrepreneurs, business leaders and citizens to help reduce our nation's carbon emissions."...

The sixth Match in Africa took place at the Cape Town Stadium on 7 February 2020. The record breaking 51'945 fans witnessed history in action, when Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal went head-to-head raising USD 3.5 million (approximately R54.6 million) for the charitable Roger Federer Foundation. The Match in Africa also showcased a host of local talent in between the matches, including the legendary Ndlovu Youth Choir and the energetic Zip Zap Circus....
