Our Cape Town office is looking for an art director with a focus on retail advertising to join our creative team, working on one of our retail clients.
We are seeking a passionate individual with retail client experience and the skill to capture promotional excitement through breakthrough designs for a national retail client. The successful candidate will carry visual and conceptual skills from the initial brief through to the final artwork.

Key responsibilities- Work within a team under the guidance of a group head and creative director to conceptualise and execute campaigns based on client and internal briefs.
- Present work imaginatively and confidently to clients and senior creatives.
- Execute design and conceptualisation at a high standard.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all deliverables.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, especially under pressure.
Minimum requirementsQualifications
- A relevant tertiary qualification is essential.
Experience
- Four to seven years of experience as an art director in a large or integrated advertising agency.
- Four to seven years of experience in a high-volume work environment.
- Demonstrated experience with social media design across various platforms.
- Experience working with stylists and executing briefs for photographers.
- Experience in digital and experiential advertising is advantageous.
Skills and attributes
- Strong proficiency in design software, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator (non-negotiable).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- A persuasive negotiator and innovative thinker.
- Highly motivated and capable of working independently to support the agency’s creative goals and the client’s objectives.
