Job description

A media agency in Lonehill Johannesburg, is looking for a talented and experienced senior graphic designer to join our creative team on a three-month fixed term contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing their expertise in both digital and print design. They will be responsible for leading design projects and collaborating with other departments to create visually stunning and effective marketing material.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the design and production of various projects including magazine layout, advertisements, brochures, publications, websites, social media graphics, project proposals and performance reports.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute design concepts that align with client and company objectives and branding guidelines.
• Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate new design techniques and technologies into projects.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the highest standards of quality.
• Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide creative solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field.
• Minimum of seven years of professional graphic design experience.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint)
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design styles and project types.
• Excellent understanding of typography, colour theory, and layout principles.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with motion graphics and video editing.
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS and web design principles.
• Familiarity with UX/UI design.
