Paint & Hardware Sales Representative - George - Western Cape

A company in George is urgently looking for a paint and hardware experienced Sales Representative. 

Responsibilities:
  • Sales and business development:
    • Actively seek out and engage with prospective customers in the paint and hardware industries.
    • Promote and sell paint, hardware, and associated products to retailers, contractors, and DIY customers.
    • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
    • Conduct market research to identify potential new clients and sales opportunities.
  • Customer relationship management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
    • Provide product knowledge and advice to customers, ensuring they receive the right products for their needs.
    • Respond to customer inquiries, provide quotes, and follow up on sales leads.
    • Handle customer complaints and provide solutions promptly.
  • Product Knowledge and training:
    • Stay updated on the latest trends and products within the paint and hardware industry.
    • Attend training sessions to keep up with product developments and new offerings.
    • Provide product demonstrations and training to customers where necessary.
  • Reporting and administration:
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and opportunities in the CRM system.
    • Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for the Sales Manager.
    • Track competitor activities and report market trends.
  • Inventory and logistics coordination:
    • Liaise with the warehouse and supply chain teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery to customers.
    • Monitor inventory levels of key products and place orders when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in sales within the paint or hardware industry.
    • Knowledge of paint products, hardware tools, and accessories.
    • Experience in building and maintaining customer relationships in a sales-driven environment.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent. A diploma in Sales, Marketing, or a related field is a plus.
  • Skills and competencies:
    • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication.
    • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage time effectively.
    • Knowledge of CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
    • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Other requirements:
    • Valid drivers licence and own reliable vehicle.
    • Willingness to travel within assigned territory.
Remuneration:
R15 000 basic salary + company car + commission
