Sales Assistant

Duties and responsibilities
  • Exceed customer expectations through effective selling techniques.
  • Adhere to stock loss control measures in the store.
  • Consistently meet individual sales targets.
  • Identify opportunities to maximise sales and drive turnover.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and uphold visual merchandising standards to optimise sales.
  • Create a positive and inspiring shopping environment.
  • Process transactions, including cash, card, voucher, and coupon payments accurately.
  • Ensure all outgoing stock, items, or scripts are scanned and paid for.
  • Process loyalty cards, including those of accelerated partners.
  • Build professional relationships with customers, offering friendly and helpful assistance.
  • Report customer compliments and complaints to management.
  • Handle customer stock queries and ensure timely resolution.

Minimum requirements
Essential:
  • Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • Up to six months of retail experience.

Special conditions of employment:

  • Willingness to work retail hours.
  • South African citizenship.

Advantageous:
  • One year of retail work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current clothing trends or outdoor lifestyle (based on the brand).
