AFDA is inviting applications for the position of learning group coordinator (LGC), Johannesburg campus.

Key roles and responsibilities

The learning group coordinator (LGC) is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the learning requirements and assisting the programme coordinator in delivering their CVP requirements:
  1. Learning circle curriculum and appropriate teaching strategies delivered
    • Term curriculum delivered to appropriate NQF level descriptors.
    • Term-appropriate teaching strategies developed and implemented.
    • Term curriculum lesson plans researched, prepared, and delivered.
  2. Learning circle classes, resources, and student participation ensured
    • Term learning circles planned, staffed, and delivered.
    • Term facilities and equipment requirements planned and delivered.
    • Term class and learning participation ensured.
  3. Learning circle assignments, assessments, and marks delivered
    • Term learning narratives explained and assigned.
    • Valid term assignments and assessments disseminated and delivered.
    • Term marks and moderation reports collected and delivered.
  4. Learning circle term projects and resources planned and delivered
    • Term projects are planned and scheduled according to resources.
    • Term project facilities and equipment are available, functional, and maintained.
    • Term resource budgets are planned, allocated, and maintained.
  5. Learning circle reviews completed and implemented
    • Required term learning reports compiled and delivered.
    • Term learning statutory requirements are adhered to and documented.
    • Term learning reviews are submitted, and recommendations are implemented.
Additional responsibilities
  • Mentoring and training of tutors.
  • Delivery of on-campus and online lectures.
  • Marking of written assessments.
  • Assessment of oral presentations as a member of an assessment panel.
  • Addressing student queries and facilitating crew meetings where required.

Selection criteria
  • NQF Level 7 / BA qualification.
  • Knowledge of the performance and/or film and television industries.
