Role DescriptionThis is a full-time remote role for a
Social Media Manager based in Cape Town, working closely with our head office team in KwaZulu-Natal.
This is not a behind-the-screen-only role. We are looking for someone confident, proactive, and highly capable in client-facing environments.
The Social Media Manager will:
- Develop and execute strategic social media plans across multiple property and hospitality clients.
- Be present on-site at our Cape Town developments regularly to capture real-time, high-quality content.
- Represent Rainmaker Marketing professionally and confidently when engaging with clients.
- Plan, create, and oversee engaging content across platforms.
- Optimise performance through analytics and strategic insights.
This role requires someone who thrives both creatively and strategically — equally comfortable in front of clients and behind the camera.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute platform-specific social media strategies (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok where relevant).
- Confidently manage client communication, attend site visits, and represent the brand professionally.
- Be on-site regularly at Cape Town developments to capture content.
- Create compelling photo and video content with a strong eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling.
- Conceptualise and produce reels, walkthroughs, lifestyle content, and development updates.
- Write engaging, on-brand captions aligned with campaign objectives.
- Monitor trends and implement relevant, innovative content ideas.
- Track performance metrics and provide strategic optimisation recommendations.
- Work closely with designers, videographers, and account managers to ensure aligned messaging.
- Support paid social campaigns in collaboration with the digital team.
Qualifications & Experience- Proven experience in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimisation (SMO).
- Strong client-facing communication skills and professional presentation.
- Confident and comfortable working directly with property developers and stakeholders.
- Excellent content creation ability, with a strong eye for videography and photography.
- Experience creating short-form video content (Reels, TikTok, Stories).
- Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone across brands.
- Ability to analyse performance insights and optimise accordingly.
- Knowledge of the property and hospitality industries is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
- 2–4+ years’ experience in a similar role (agency experience advantageous).
