Job description
Our client a leading and fast expanding commercial financial services entity, seeks to appoint an experienced and dynamic HR professional who will be responsible for the implementation of HR Best Practices as well as taking full control of the full HR function across the Group. This exciting opportunity combines leadership in HR operations, payroll management and the design and delivery of training, learning and development initiatives.
The successful incumbent will drive compliance, employee engagement, and organizational capability building.
Key performance areasHR management- Lead and manage the HR function across all group entities, ensuring consistency of policies and practices.
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals (this function is currently outsourced).
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning.
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation, company policies, and governance standards.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executives and line managers on HR matters.
Payroll and HR administration- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for group employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements (PAYE, UIF, SDL, pension/provident funds)
- Manage payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting to finance and exco.
- Ensure HRIS and payroll systems are optimized and integrated with other business systems.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
Training, learning and development- Implementation and roll-out of all onboarding and employee wellness initiatives for the group.
- Design and implement group-wide learning and development strategies.
- Conduct training needs analysis and align programs with business priorities.
- Oversee leadership development, graduate programs, and continuous professional development initiatives.
- Partner with external providers to deliver accredited training where required.
- Measure training effectiveness and report on ROI of L&D initiatives.
Education:
- Relevant qualifications in human resources, industrial psychology, or related fields
Experience:- Minimum 6 years experience in managing the full HR function in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in managing HR across multiple business units or group structures.
- Strong experience in payroll management and HR systems administration.
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing training and L&D programs.
Technical Skills:- Advanced knowledge of labour legislation and HR compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency in HR and payroll systems.
- Strong financial acumen for payroll.
- Excellent facilitation and training delivery skills.
