The regional field sales manager will be responsible for managing and leading a team of Strikers to drive sales and ensure the consistent execution of Store standards across the East Coast region. This includes overseeing retail (hypermarkets and supermarkets), petroleum (gas stations), and independent channels (convenience and kiosks). The incumbent will develop strong customer relationships, ensure trade marketing implementation, coach and develop the team, and track key performance metrics to grow presence and volume in the region.
Key Responsibilities:- Regional Management:
- Develop and implement action plans to achieve regional KPI targets including store coverage, distribution, volume increases, and in-store activations.
- Personally cover allocated calls and ensure full territory coverage by the team.
- Relationship Building:
- Build strong, sustainable relationships with store managers, external regional managers, and internal teams.
- Promote values and maintain exceptional customer service in all interactions.
- Promotional Activities:
- Execute promotional campaigns according to agreed conditions and timelines.
- Ensure Perfect Store standards are consistently implemented and improved in all stores.
- Team Training and Development:
- Train, coach, and motivate Strikers to maximise individual and team performance.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing feedback, and support personal development.
- Team Management:
- Set SMART objectives for team members and ensure all resources and tools are available for success.
- Manage team budgets (travel, incentives, promotional goods).
- Foster a positive, dynamic, and high-performance team culture.
- Administrative Work:
- Submit all reports and administrative tasks on time.
- Use data insights to enhance team performance and strategy execution.
- Plan and implement quarterly sales and marketing campaigns.
- Conduct regular quality audits and compliance checks.
Qualifications and Skills:Qualifications:- Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification preferred.
Skills:- Excellent leadership and team development abilities.
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Analytical thinker with good planning and organisational capabilities.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Knowledge of field force automation tools and CRM systems.
- High energy, driven, and solutions-focused.
Experience:- Minimum 3 years of experience in the Off Premise FMCG sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and developing a field sales team.
- Strong understanding of Off Premise channels, including retail, petroleum, and independent sectors.
