The Striker is responsible for negotiating the elements of the Perfect Store within a set of Retail and Impulse accounts in a designated geographical area. This includes ensuring optimal availability, visibility, communication, and additional placements of products to maximise sales potential.
Key responsibilities:Territory coverage:- Visit and service all agreed outlets at optimal frequency and cost-effectively
- Ensure thorough area administration and development
- Complete all allocated customer calls within designated territory
- Build and maintain respectful and professional relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers
Perfect store execution:- Maintain and expand the Perfect Store database focusing on distribution, pricing, visibility, placement, and messaging
- Build quality relationships through regular, effective communication
- Present commercial proposals and insights to influence decision-makers
Stock management:- Manage orders to ensure all SKUs are always in stock and on display
- Maintain necessary stock levels to ensure uninterrupted product availability in all outlets
POS management:- Secure and enhance the agreed in-store presence of the brand
- Correctly site and update all Point-of-Sale (POS) materials in stores
- Ensure all promotions are correctly implemented and maintained from day on
Administration and reporting:- Complete all administrative tasks accurately and timeously
- Implement and execute Head Office agreements and merchandising standards
Qualifications and skills:Qualifications:- Matric (Grade 12) minimum
- Further studies in Marketing, Sales, or Business (advantageous)
Skills:- Strong sales and negotiation abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Objection handling and problem-solving abilities
- Basic commercial mathematics and pricing understanding
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); mobile Field Force automation is a plus
Experience:- Proven track record in field sales
- FMCG experience, either with branded goods or within retail
- Experience managing retail/impulse accounts and promoting in-store brand visibility

Working conditions:- Must reside in Pietermaritzburg or immediate surroundings
- Travel required: 90-100% of the time within the assigned area
- Field-based role involving frequent customer interaction and retail visits
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
