The Listening & Language Home Programme is a children’s reading-enrichment programme which actively involves parents, teachers and care-givers - in fact, everyone who takes part in the education of a young child. It develops the foundation of young learners’ language abilities – which as the PIRLS Literacy Report demonstrate, crucially must be established by Grade 4.

The series addresses the most important aspects of language development, which includes listening skills, vocabulary-building, logical reasoning and the correct use of grammatical structures, language concepts and descriptive language.

Each programme is divided into thirty-two weeks, with fun activities to be completed each week.

More about the series:

The series is aligned with the CAPS curriculum and adheres to the pedagogical principles of Foundation Phase education. As such it focuses on the development of perceptual and language skills with activities that are well structured, practical and child-centred.

It is an essential resource for parents, caregivers and teachers of Foundation Phase learners.

This series is available in English and Afrikaans.
