At the end of September, Litha Communications staged the 12th International Housing and Home Warranty Conference (IHHWC 2011) on behalf of the NHBRC and Department of Human Settlements at the CTICC.

It was the first time this prestigious conference was hosted in Africa in its 30-year history, and has been hailed by delegates as the best conference ever held and one of the best-run that they have attended.

"Every logistical component, administrative process, publicity and delegate need was catered for by Litha Communications. Without them this conference would not have been as great a success as it ended up being," says Conrad Mors, marketing manager of the NHBRC.

One of the international delegates commented that, "the organisers of the conference in Cape Town have really excelled, and the arrangements and logistics set a very high benchmark for future conferences."

The conference, which drew close to 400 prominent speakers and delegates from across the globe, entailed an action-packed mix of conference sessions and seminars; a housing project tour; a charity golf day, and the unveiling of an eco-friendly, low-income village dubbed the Legacy Project by Minster of Human Settlements, Tokyo Sexwale.

Delegates were also treated to the finest South African cuisine, wine and entertainment at three unforgettable venues - the Mount Nelson, Ernie Els Wine Estate and at a glittering gala event at the CTICC.

"These functions were brilliantly managed and provided delegates a sensorial experience of what South Africa has to offer," says Mors.
