Oasys Cape Town secures CTICC tenders

The Cape Town branch of Oasys Innovations was awarded two strategic supply agreements by the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). The tender awards for client electrical and carpet services were awarded by CTICC Managing Director, Dirk Elzinga.

According to Elzinga, Oasys Innovations offered the most competitive service. “In order to provide a high standard of service excellence and to successfully meet the demands of our clients it is essential that CTICC partners with suppliers that are dedicated to service excellence and willing to go the extra mile,” he said.

Graham Jeffery, Chief Executive for Oasys in the Cape says that the two contracts will add significant value to the business volume of the company. “Our tender submissions required a great measure of innovation, while our good standing as a supplier to the exhibitions and events industry, and as a regional employer with 70 permanent staff members, also contributed to our success.”

The electrical portion, which was a separate tender, allowed for a safety first approach. “Our contract is to feed the power supply from the CTICC's main supply with electrical cable to the various exhibitor booths according to the requirements of the exhibition or event organizer. It would be up to the exhibitor to request us to do their electrical installations on the stand. Of course, in the event of organizers having in-house electrical units, they may opt to use their own teams.”

Jeffery says that the innovative portion is that additional safety precautions were introduced with a power-cut button on the outside of the distribution board - in the event of an emergency. Another feature is that a light on the outside of the board indicates the power on-or-off position. Performance features, such as plug-and-play with special connectors for special cable lengths have also been high on the agenda resulting in ease of connectivity and less installation time.

The carpet tender will also add much value to the Oasys order book: Comments Jeffery: “We currently hold large volumes of carpet tiles in stock with all the primary colours available at all times. To become a preferred supplier to the CTICC is much more than the potential value of the business, but the corporate and prestige value cannot be underestimated.”
