Jackal Berry MTB Challenge

Over R130,000 was raised in the 2013 Jackal Berry MTB Cycle Challenge which took place on 28 November 2013. 28 riders from BMi Research, 4PL and SixSqure hit the tracks on a two-day 180km challenge from Bronkhorstspruit to Machadodorp to raise money for the Ubuhle Day Care and Development Centre based in Bronkhorstspruit. The money will be used to build additional classrooms for the centre.

Ubuhle was founded in 2008 by a group of local volunteers, with the aim of helping orphans and vulnerable children in farming communities in the Metsweding District. Ubuhle now provides a pre-school facility and an English primary school up to level 3, after-school care, workshops and courses for adults, as well as some aid to develop new income sources to the 200 rural families living in the rural area.

Gareth Pearson, CEO of BMi Research was grateful to everyone who was involved in the event. "A special thank you goes to all sponsors who contributed to such a worthy cause. Ubuhle means a lot to all the riders and we look forward to another great year working with them," Pearson said.
