Says acting Chief Executive Adolf Venter: “We are excited about the diversity of the shows that will be taking place at our venue this month, which underscores the multi-purpose offerings of Gallagher. Although January normally has a relatively sluggish start in terms of bookings, many organisers and end-users have enquired about venue options for the rest of the year. Despite the two month window during the soccer world cup, the show will go on and we can still accommodate bookings during that period - from weddings and conferences to exhibitions and executive meetings.”
Venter is upbeat about the two shows that will be hosted at Gallagher during February: “It is always a sign of confidence in our venue when an event is held for the first time in South Africa, such as AIR Africa. The focus from 16 to 18 February will be on international business-to-business in the aviation industry, and with the Grand Central Airport a stone's throw from Gallagher, it will be most convenient for out-of-town visitors and exhibitors to use the facility. The Civil Aviation Authority of South Africa has offered its full support to the event.”
With consumer budgets remaining tight, forward planning of leisure expenditure has become crucial in the choice of holiday destinations. The Beeld Holiday Show, which will take place from 19 to 21 February, should provide consumers with ample time to plan their holidays well in advance and to be selective in their choice of destinations according to their financial means.
This year the Beeld Holiday Show will be celebrating its fifth anniversary and targets an attendance of around 20,000 visitors. Show times are from 9:00 to 18:00 except for Sunday 21 February when gates open from 9:00 to 16:00.
