Call for arts organisations to be part of upcoming BASA Boardbank event

Business and Arts South Africa is inviting arts organisations in need of board members to apply to be part of the upcoming BASA Boardbank event.
Call for arts organisations to be part of upcoming BASA Boardbank event

Taking place on October 31st at Gallery Momo in Johannesburg, the event once again brings skilled professionals and pre-selected arts organisations together in a relaxed and dynamic fashion.

The arts organisations applying to be part of the upcoming BASA Boardbank must fulfill the requirement of having a constitution, a board structure with defined roles and the need for candidates to fulfill positions on their board.

Alongside giving arts organisations access to passionate, skilled professionals as potential board members, it also acts as a connector for those professionals who want to engage with an arts organisation in a real and effective way.

This is achieved by providing professionals with the opportunity to voluntarily sit on the Board of an arts organisation - thereby helping make the arts sector more sustainable by improving corporate governance, while providing business professionals with the opportunity to expand their own Social Investment (SI) responsibility within the arts sector.

If you are an arts organisation with a well-developed board structure and looking to recruit professionals as potential board members, please email az.oc.asab@ofni or fax 011 4472364 with the following information:

  • One page motivational letter
  • Copy of your organisational constitution

Closing date for applications: 25 October 2012

Business and Arts South Africa has made available a limited travel grant, eligible to two arts organisation that have been selected to participate at the Boardbank and located outside Johannesburg.

For more information contact: 011 447 2295 or email az.oc.asab@ofni.
