Junior to Midweight DTP / Graphic Designer

Job description

We are an award winning industry leader in the retail environment, offering our clients a wide range of services ranging from print, shop fitting to events and activations.

We are looking for a solid DTP layout artist and graphic designer, with strong visual skills, exceptional organisational ability, a great manner with clients and the ability to perform under pressure.

A top candidate should easily be able to, but won’t be limited by:

• Work with reference materials, CI guidelines and design briefs to digitally render concepts that provide clear and precise direction for manufacturing and production. 
• Ability to learn and incorporate the cost component into your design process.
• Work on multiple projects and delegate tasks to the production team as required.
• Individuals must be able to work well in a team environment.
• Eagle eye for detail.
• Solid DTP Skills, and understanding of print.
• Must understand spot colours.
• Web experience is a plus.
• Experience with 3D work, sketch-up and CAD software will weigh heavily in your favour.
• Experience in the retail space.
• experience working around events, and display.
• Willingness to learn, and adapt to fast moving situations.

Salary is negotiable based on experience.

Requirements

• Must be proficient on the Apple and PC platforms.
• Office 365.
• Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Understanding of prepress systems.
• Good foundation in die cutting, packaging and point of sale.
• Print experience is essential.
• Minimum of three year’s experience with solid print experience.
• Own transport.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Diploma/degree in visual arts/graphic design or applicable.
• Experience with 3-d, Sketch-up and Cad software a plus
• Occasional long hours and weekend work are required, but mostly only during busy periods. 
• Succesfull candidates will be required to perform a 1 hour test to show off their skills.
