STADIO (Pty) Ltd is inviting applications for the position of: Lecturer: FP Mathematics (Foundation Phase Studies/Mathematics, Science and Technology/Teaching Practice

Start date January 2026

Key roles and responsibilities:
  • Lecture and assess contact learning students in the BEd (foundation phase teaching) programme in the following modules:
  • Mathematics for foundation phase 1 MFP201
  • Mathematics for foundation phase 2 MFP301
  • Mathematics for foundation phase 3 MFP402
  • Institutional teaching practice 2 ITP200
  • School-based teaching practice 2 TPR200
  • Institutional teaching practice 4 ITP402
  • School-based teaching practice 4 TPR401             
  • Compile teaching, learning, and assessment materials.
  • Use a learning management system independently and/or work collaboratively to develop and deliver modules.
  • Participate in relevant programme, curriculum, and material development.
  • Carry out allocated internal moderation responsibilities.
  • Carry out invigilation of venue-based assessments as reasonably required by the Registrar’s Office.
  • Participate in school-based teaching practice assessments.
  • Provide academic support to students.
  • Complete all quality assurance requirements related to the modules and programmes.
  • Participate in research and community engagement projects.
  • Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management.
  • Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with all policies and SOPs.
  • Participate in and attend meetings and workshops.
  • 1Fulfill functions on relevant committees, and in meetings and workshops as reasonably requested by management.
  • Fulfill all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.

 

Minimum requirements
  • At least 3 years of teaching and /or lecturing experience in the relevant phase/discipline
  • Must have a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the diverse subject matter, as well as work-based learning (teaching practice).
  • Experience in online teaching and learning environments.

 Qualification:

Minimum bachelor of education honours or equivalent qualification with relevant study in the foundation phase mathematics

Skills and abilities required
  • Sound teaching and assessment skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational, time management, and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
  • High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to cope with change.
  • Willingness to work when required on Saturdays.
