DStv's new satellite to uplink TVM on DStv

Multichoice DStv Malawi branch manager for north and central regions of the country, Titania Katenga Kaunda, has disclosed that the company will soon be launching a new W7 satellite.

The company, which was carrying out promotional activities in the lakeshore town of Salima, responded to queries from subscribers there who wanted to know why the state controlled broadcaster Television Malawi (TVM) is not part of national television stations that beam through Multichoice's DStv despite being on a satellite.

Currently TVM beam through NSS7 satellite while DStv broadcasts from IS7 satellite and there are compatibility technicalities that cannot allow TVM to be hosted by Multichoice.

“Soon we will launch a new satellite called W7 and when we do that we will easily uplink TVM on DStv,” said Kaunda.
