Tech startup Cridde to launch new app-based car rental platform

Cridde, a new app-based car-sharing platform, will, as of February 2021, allow users to rent cars from private car owners. A division of Cityride car rental based in Johannesburg, the app allows users to have the convenience of once-off document upload, verification and renting a car instantly thus making the car rental process paperless and easy to use.

Users will be able to search for vehicles by city, review the listings, and book the vehicle of your choice.

"This is a better option compared to the traditional rental companies," says Ahmed Olabode, Cridde co-founder.

Covid-19 has changed the way everyone does business, regardless of industry, and Cridde's solution, through its proprietary technology Cridde Connect, a feature that enables renters to book a car, locate and unlock without meeting the owner, will offer users a 100% contact-free, no-hassle car pick up and drop off.

Car owners in Johannesburg and Capetown looking for a way to reduce the financial burden of car ownership can now earn money by listing and sharing cars on the app – this can be done by creating a profile, adding photos, describing your car, and setting your price and deposit.

Olabode says: "We strive to build a secured car rental community by ensuring that all renters and vehicle owners are approved and verified before they go live on our platform."

The app will be made available for downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple's App Store for those who need to rent a vehicle for daily or monthly usage.
