Hirsch's opens in Cape Town

Building on its long success in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, a Hirsch's Homestore will open in Milnerton, Cape Town on 1 April 2012. Described as the largest independently owned appliance company in South Africa, it will service the developing area of Table Bay.

Key Projects is managing the project; Isipani Construction is the main contractor, the architect is Elphick Proome, QS is FWJK and engineering is by Sutherland. The team has rapidly conceptualised, designed and procured the project to meet the client's demanding programme.

Principal agent of Key Projects, Markus Kaps states the new flagship store will be over 5000 sqm of retail and warehouse space, using the latest construction technology to achieve a very tight programme.

"The development will benefit the environment by ensuring that stormwater entering the municipal system will be cleaned of contaminants and the planned landscaping will also enhance the buildings in line with Royal Ascot's high standards," he said. The use of a precast wall system will accelerate the works to meet the April 2012 deadline.
